Tim Staples | Camels, Leatherjackets, and Limburger Cheese
Tim will be speaking on Sunday evening to all our youth and the topic is Catholic Boot Camp for Teens, but he is ALSO talking on Monday night at 7pm. A light dinner will be served from 6-6:45pm.
Here's an overview of this talk:
This talk for teens uses the examples of peers who have changed the world from the past to modern times. From Jeremiah the prophet, Daniel, to the apostles James and John, magnificent saints of the Church such as Saint Maria Goretti, and of course, the Blessed Mother herself. You will discover how God has always used young people, and even teens and pre-teens, to change the world. Hear, finally, how a modern day couple from Iraq-friends of Tim's-endured unimaginable persecution and are a testimony to the power of God working in the lives of teens around the globe. As far as the Camels, Leatherjackets, and Limburger Cheese goes, you'll have to come to the talk to hear how they fit in!
I'm challenging ALL Jr. High and Sr. High to attend this awesome talk!!!! I'll see you there :)

The Confirmation Retreat was amazing thanks to the Holy Spirit, the work of some very dedicated teens and adults, and most importantly to the open hearts of our Confirmation Candidates.
Special Thanks to Fr. Uhdi for an incredible talk and a wonderful Mass, Lisa Militello for sharing herself with us for countless years, Fr. Andrew for his prayers and support, the high school teens for sharing their testimonies with the candidates, T Devine for her steadfast dedication to our youth, Polly La Rosa for all the hard work getting together the odds and ends, The Men's Club for cooking breakfast, Susan McDaniel for getting lunch and the parents who brought snacks. You all made the retreat special!
Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Pro Life March in Washington DC
Well, we definitely had an adventure getting to the Pro Life March. We had bus trouble (to say the least) but it made it into a pilgremage and opened our eyes to what God can do. He can make us walk into the Pro Life Rally in the Verizon Center amongst 20,000 other people at the exact moment that the bishops are processing into Mass when we knew there was no way we would make it to the Verizon Center at all. God is Good and Merciful!!!
Enjoy the pictures from the day. It was something these kids won't ever forget!

South Carolina Catholic Youth Rally for Life
The South Carolina Catholic Youth Rally for Life took place this morning at St. Joseph in Columbia. 500 youth, speakers, praise and worship music by the house band, Mass with the bishop--and all before 11:30am :)
We then drove to USC, parked, and joined hundreds of Pro Life supporters for the Stand Up for Life Rally at the Statehouse. We heard speeches from local politicians, and personal testimonies from the group Citizens for Life.
The Knights of Columbus led us in the pledge of allegiance and Heaven's Hogs {a motorcycle club} were there giving out free hot chocolate and coffee.
There was literature about the Pro Life movement, as well as, brochures on every aspect of Respecting Life--from the womb to the tomb.
It was an incredible thing to watch all these young people being a witness of the Gospel and standing up for what they believe.
I encourage anyone who has never been, to put this on their calendar for next year and plan to attend. You will be changed!!
