DYC Odds and Ends...
We will meet at Bellacino's on Lake Murray Blvd. at 4:45 on Friday for dinner. Dinner is on your own. if you don't want to eat dinner there, please make sure to be at Bellacino's at 5:45. That is when we will leave for the conference.
Also, we have Our Lady of the Lake shirts that we will wear that night, so know that you will need to change your shirt when you get to Bellacino's.
On Sunday, we will wear the conference tshirts.
The Conference ends around noon on Sunday and we usually stop to eat lunch together as a group, so you will need some money for that. We will meet back at OLOL on Sunday afternoon.
What to Pack:
A couple changes of clothes
comfortable shoes
a jacket
something to sleep in
your personal toiletries (shampoo, toothbrush, etc)
there are pillows and bedding, but you are welcome to bring your own pillow or blanket
No cell phones will be allowed on during the conference, so if you plan to bring one, please keep it with your things in your room. We would hate to look out in the crowd and see people texting (You get really bad reception there anyway)

Diocesan Youth Conference
Dear Parents,
I wanted to remind you all that the registration forms for the annual Diocesan High School Youth Conference have gone out and the deadline is this Sunday. I have attached the flyer and the registration forms. You will notice that there is more attached to the registration form, so please just print the first 2 pages.
This conference is March 11-13. It is at White Oak Conference Center in Winnsboro (about 45 minutes from Chapin).
Our youth are always so excited about this conference and the buzz has already started. They LOVE this weekend. There will be speakers that have some moving and inspirational stories, skits performed by the Diocesan Evangelization Team (which we have 2 high school students on the team this year) that are hilarious and some with messages that every teen needs to hear. There is a band, games, basketball, volleyball, soccer, break out workshops to learn more about the things the teens are interested in (they pick 2 they can go to) and we end with Mass with the Bishop on Sunday morning.
I would love for every one of our teens to experience this weekend. It is such an amazing experience!
The cost is $140 for the whole weekend and includes registration, meals and a shirt. Fr. Andrew and I have the same view that cost should never be an issue, if this is something you'd like your teen to participate in. We can always work something out and we are happy to do it!!
This Sunday, I will be on the annual high school ski trip, so please put the forms and money either on my desk (there will be someone there this Sunday, so they will know what to do with it) or put it in my box upstairs in the hallway across from Pat Moore's office.

March for Life | Washington DC
We are getting so excited about our
annual March for Life trip to Washington DC.
We hope you can join us!!!
Here is the information we have so far:
The cost will be $65 per person. This does not include food.
Itinerary (subject to change)
Sunday, January 23
6:15am: Meet at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church
6:30am: Depart via chartered bus(es). We will stop for fast food lunch.
5:00pm: Arrive at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Crofton, Md.
5:30pm: Attend youth Mass.
Rest of the evening: Eat dinner; attend a "youth night' for high school students; sleep.
Monday, January 24
5:30am: Depart for Washington, DC
7:00am: Arrive at the Youth Rally and Mass
11:00am: Depart for the Washington Mall and the march to the U.S. Supreme Court
3:30pm: Meet at the National Air and Space Museum. Eat fast food dinner at the museum,
4:30pm: Depart for Columbia
Midnight: Arrive at Our Lady of the Hills

Money for Food
Warm, layered clothing
